Honda premiered its latest all-electric e:N2 Concept during the fifth iteration of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) event.
On Nov 5, the expo held in Shanghai, China showcased the second phase of the e:N Series of models which will be marketed and sold exclusively in China.
With sharp and sleek metallic lines, the styling of the e:N2 is said to possess design cues not belonging to any of the Japanese carmaker’s existing models.
Inside, the concept’s cabin is said to provide “space” that’s commonly associated with an electric vehicle’s (EV’s) architecture so that occupants can enjoy “intellectual exhilaration”.
Occupants can enjoy the concept’s Smart hospitality through lighting and scents while its digital cockpit will provide the latest Honda CONNECT features.
Utilising the e:N Architecture F – developed exclusively or the e:N Series of the brand’s EVs, the concept is touted to give drivers a sense of pleasure and unity while at the helm.
The architecture is effectively General Motors’ (GM’s) Ultium platform.
Honda announced it would utilise GM’s new global platform and battery technology as it ramps up its expansion into the EV market with affordability in mind.
The concept will use the company’s dynamic technologies to deliver crisp handling and outstanding stability.
“The e:N2 Concept represents the value of our e:N Series, which will “redefine the fun EVs can offer to customers” with their unique driving pleasure, the value as a mobility space and design,” said Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe.
The CEO added that the company is keen to provide China with a diverse range of EV products as it continues towards full electrification.
