This year’s International Automodified (IAM) 2022 show is now looking to heighten the senses with automotive ‘modders’ flooding the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Held during the upcoming Malaysia Motor Expo (MME), over 100 modified cars will be showcased in Hall 2 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from Nov 12 -13.
Looking to stir exhilaration levels to new highs, the IAM 2022 show will not only include local ‘modders’ but will also be joined by those from the Island State of Singapore and The Kingdom of Thailand.
The IAM 2022 show cars will be judged based on a list of criteria including overall build, exterior modifications, paint/wrap and stickers, engine, undercarriage, interior, in-car entertainment and finally, presentation.
A total of nine awards now await high-achieving ‘modders’ ranging from outlook to car audio installation, overall style and performance, among others.
The final day of the show (Nov 13) has been earmarked as the coronation date for the nation’s Automodified winner.
The MME is an automotive ‘sales carnival’ weekend which will be held from Nov 11 to 13. It will not just include the IAM 2022 (Nov 12-13) show, but also other exciting events such as HINSound&Style, live-on-stage DJ Hunt performances, race car exhibition, Miss Malaysia Motor Expo photo hunt and test drive sessions.
The IAM 2022 is not just a venue for showcasing and judging modified cars, rather, the event looks to act as a platform where Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) can engage among themselves as well as with owners to help bring about better services and products while also taking the advantage to showcase their latest offerings.
Additionally, the MME will also act as a meeting venue for automotive aficionados and collectors as well as car clubs and communities.

Early bird tickets are currently available at just RM10 on Shopee for the first 1,000 purchasers.
Tickets will also be available for on-ground purchase during the event at RM20 per adult, while children of ages 12 and under will be allowed to enter free of charge and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Selected lucky MME patrons will stand a chance to win a Petron fuel voucher worth RM100 by taking part in a simple questionnaire during the three-day event.
The RM100 fuel voucher will be credited to the winner’s new/existing Petron Value Card app that’s available for download for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The organisers of MME began their activities more than 11 years ago and the event was first branded as the NST CARnival.
The show’s activities were suspended for more than two years, due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, and along with its resumption, the organisers were able to secure an exclusive endorsement from Malaysia Automotive Robotics and Internet of Things (MARii) – an automotive-focussed agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
