BMW Motorrad Malaysia announced the arrival of its first all-electric CE 04 scooter to expand its Urban Mobility portfolio.
The CE 04’s price will be announced later in March and is touted to provide excellent ride and handling with the low placement of its energy storage unit which offers an overall smooth and pleasant ride coupled with its low stretched-out profile and tubular steel main frame.
Wearing minimalistic surfaces finished in Light White, matt black is used as contrast for its front and side sections as well as the “floating” seat. Meanwhile, riders will enjoy the use of an integrated side stand which helps to maintain the overall look of this e-scooter.

At the front, the CE 04 sports a telescopic fork for the front wheel which is accompanied by twin disc brakes for its trend-setting wheels with a disc-wheel look while wearing 120/70 R15 67H (front) and 160/60 R15 56H (rear) tyres.
The rear wheel control consists of a single-sided swing arm, while suspension and damping are performed by a directly controlled, fully covered spring strut.
For illumination, the CE 04 uses LEDs for the front, rear and signals and comes with Adaptive Headlight Pro as standard together with a daytime running lamp and special light functions, such as “Welcome” and “Good Bye”.
The magnetic, liquid-cooled electric motor mounted in the lower frame – located between the battery and the rear wheel contributes to this e-scooter’s low centre of gravity design.

The motor is able to generate 42PS and 62Nm of torque, allowing for stop-and-go acceleration from 0 to 50kph in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 120kph.
For power, it uses an 8.9kWh (60.6Ah) lithium-ion battery, helping it provide a maximum range of 130km and can be charged using an integrated charging device, which can be done at any regular household power socket, wallbox or public charging station.
Fully charging the battery to its maximum capacity takes 4 hours and 20 minutes, assuming the standard output of 2.3kW.
With quick charging, assuming an output of up to 6.9kW, this can be reduced to 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Riders will be provided with four riding modes of Eco, Rain and Road as well as Dynamic which is available as an added option.

For safety, the CE 04 is provided with the latest generation of BMW Motorrad Integral ABS Pro as standard, together with a 10.25-inch TFT colour display with Integrated Map Navigation, as well as extensive connectivity powered by the BMW Motorrad
Connected App.
The app allows riders to access an arrow-based navigation system as well as receive updates on the e-scooter’s status and statistics.
Additionally, the screen makes it possible to display a navigation map within the instrument cluster, with no additional display needed, and can be operated via the multi-controller. For added convenience, a USB port, storage compartment with USB chargers, 12V socket, lighted helmet storage compartment, lighted flexcase, keyless ride functionality and reversing aid are included as standard.

“To usher in the start of the new year, we are excited to introduce the New BMW CE 04 that is set to redefine emotive motorcycling for the urban mobility crowd in Malaysia. A combination of futuristic form with tried-and-tested functionality, the new BMW CE 04 represents our ideals for Responsible and Sustainable mobility,” said BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser.
“With plans for all future urban mobility models to be purely electric, we are going beyond just introducing new, innovative models for our customers, but are also taking the lead in reshaping the landscape as a whole,” added de Visser.
