The Northern state of Kedah has received three new BMW i Charging facilities, including two DC fast chargers and an AC charger.
BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser said the company is happy to welcome the new showroom as well as the expansion of its charging network infrastructure offered at the Royal Kedah Club.
“The new and larger facility being constructed by Lee Motors is also a testament to the strong market growth for the premium segment in this region. With that, we are confident that they will be able to deliver the highest level of Premium Ownership Experience for our customers here,” added de Visser.
The new charging facilities are currently open for public use and feature an 11kW AC charger as well as two DC Fast Charging facilities with an output of 60kW each.
Charging with the DC Fast Charger will cost RM1.40 per minute, while the use of the AC Charger will cost RM0.15 per minute or RM9.00 per hour.
Powered by local charging provider RSxharge and courtesy of Lee Motors and BMW Group Malaysia, the chargers are located at its new Auto Care showroom in Alor Star which the company just broke ground on.
The new Lee Motors Auto Care showroom will be located at 218, Jalan Gangsa, Kawasan Perusahaan Mergong II, 05150, Alor Setar, Kedah.
The new 50,000 sq ft facility will begin to welcome customers by the first quarter of 2024 and is said to offer more than twice the amount of space over its previous location while featuring the latest design based on BMW’s Retail NEXT concept.
The upcoming facility will be able to display up to 16 vehicles comprising of the new and premium used cars from the BMW and BMW Premium Selection portfolios.
Additionally, there will be two delivery bays, eight work bays (expandable to 12 in the future), and two dedicated bays for reception-at-the-car (RATC).
“As an authorised BMW dealer for 20 years now and the sole dealer representative for the brand in Kedah, we are looking to create better access to Electrified Mobility here in Kedah,” said Lee Motors managing director Eugene Lee.
Lee Motors successfully delivered over 270 BMW vehicles in 2022.
