Mazda CX-30 order books officially open, four variants available from RM128K

Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd has announced its order books for the CX-30 compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) is now open.

The CX-30 will be locally produced at the Inokom Assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah alongside the CX-5 and CX-8 SUVs.

Although preorders for the CX-30 already began on Feb 16, all are now welcome to place their bookings at any Mazda outlets located nationwide with deliveries expected to commence by the end of March. The company added that no Ignite Edition, All-wheel Drive or diesel variants will be offered for the CX-30.

Four model variants are now available and each will come in either a Metallic or Premium (+RM2,000 for Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray and Snowflake White Pearl) colour options. Metallic paint options include Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black, Platinum Quartz and Polymetal Gray.

Furthermore, an optional accessories package will also be made available at RM2,210 and consists of window tinting as well as LED-illuminated scuff plates.

A five-year manufacturer’s warranty provides coverage for this vehicle along with five years worth of free maintenance and both are limited to 100,000km (whichever comes first).

Starting with the entry-level CX-30 2.0G 2WD STD, it will be priced on-the-road without insurance at RM128,109 while the 2.0G High, 2.0G 2WD High+ and 2.0G 2WD High+ Premium will be similarly priced at RM136,109, RM146,109 and RM156,109 respectively.

With a wheelbase of 2655mm, the CX-30 measures in at 4,395mm-long, 1,795mm-wide and 1,540mm-tall – all while having 175mm of ground clearance.

As standard, the CX-30 will be powered by a direct-injected 2.0-litre (1,998cc) SkyActiv-G engine, which sips from a 55-litre fuel tank, comes with start-stop functionality and uses a compression ratio of 13:1 to produce 162hp at 6,000rpm and 213Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

Managing power to the front wheels is the SkyActiv-Drive six-speed transmission with manual-shift mode.

Fuel efficiency has been rated at 6.4 litres per 100km (based on the NEDC’s combined cycle).

The steering system is an electronic power-assisted steering (EPAS) while the suspension uses a combination of front MacPherson struts and rear torsion beam.

Stopping power for this 1,436kg (curb) SUV are front ventilated and rear solid discs and are partially obscured by the 16-inch wheels fitted with 215/65 series tyres. The spare is a 16-inch steel wheel fitted with a 185/65 tyre for all variants.

For illumination, LEDs have been used for the front automatic LED headlights with automatic levelling function and the rear combination lights. Incandescent bulbs are used for daytime running lights.

For added convenience, rain-sensing wipers have been included along with keyless entry with push-start button while the power-adjustable exterior mirrors come with integrated turn signals and an automatic folding function. A rear roof spoiler is included as standard.

Additionally, a one-touch power window (up and down) with an anti-pinch function is available for all windows along with a heads-up display that’s projected onto the windscreen, cruise control, an electronic parking brake and a 7.0-inch TFT LCD multi-info display for the instrument cluster.

Entertainment comes from an eight-speaker sound system managed by an 8.8-inch infotainment display system with voice recognition, reverse camera (with guide-lines), two USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The gearknob and multi-function steering wheel with audio controls and Bluetooth hands-free function have been leather-wrapped.

The seats are upholstered in fabric with the driver having eight ways of manual adjustability while the front passenger gets six instead. The rear bench is of a 60:40-split folding type.

For safety, there are the usual seven airbags which get accompanied by an Antilock Braking System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Traction Control System (TCS), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Launch Assist (HLA), Auto Hold Function, Auto Door Lock, Walk Away Lock. No advanced driver assist systems have been included here.

Opting for the 2.0 High, up-sizes the wheels to 18 inches with 215/55 series tyres while adding on signature Illumination for the headlights which now also gets an adaptive front lighting system.

The bulbs for the daytime running lights have now been swapped out for LEDs before adding a powered tailgate, front and rear parking sensors, blacked-out front grille, auto-dimming rearview mirror and paddle shifters.

The cabin also gets dual-zone automatic climate controls and cool air can now be piped to rear air vents.

Furthermore, the seats are now upholstered in leather while the driver enjoys 10-way powered adjustability with two memory functions.

The 2.0 High+ variant differentiates itself with its extensive list of safety equipment which now includes Hgh-beam Control (HBC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Lane-Keep Assist System (LAS), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Smart Brake Support (SBS), Smart Brake Support (SBS) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with stop-go functionality.

Lastly, the range-topping 2.0 High+ Premium means owners now get a glass sunroof with sliding and tilt functionality as well as a frameless rearview mirror with auto-dimming function, 360-degree View Monitor, Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) and a Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system that’s accompanied by a driver monitoring system.
