UMW Toyota (UMWT) has refreshed its Corolla line-up before adding a new range-topping Corolla GR Sport.
The Corolla E is now priced on-the-road without insurance at RM139,800 while the Corolla G now costs RM147,800.
The range-topping Corolla GR Sport rolls in at RM152,800 and all variants are covered by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and has Red Mica Metallic, Platinum White Pearl MC and Attitude Black for colour choices.
Some changes and improvements made to the G and E’s exterior include a new Metal Stream colour and new 16 and 17-inch alloy wheel designs.
Inside, the USB port has been upgraded to Type-C before adding a touch sensor to the front passenger-side door’s handle for the keyless-entry system.
Additionally, there’s also a wider 12.3-inch digital display (G) as well as a clip for the wireless charging pad to help secure a smartphone, improve seating design and reduced intake noise.

As for the Corolla GR Sport, it takes aim at those seeking a more spirited on-road experience that’s supported by sport-tuned suspension and steering systems.
Equipped with larger and newly-styled 18-inch wheels with 225/45 series tyres, it also comes fitted with Bi-LED headlights with automatic high beam and follow-me-home functionality as well as a newly-designed front grille.
The front and rear bumpers as well as lower door mouldings now take on a GR Sport design.
A “GR” emblem has now been embossed into the front headrests while red stitching adds contrast to the sportier seats upholstered in black-red combination leather with perforations.

The surround of the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with four visual designs for choice has been pronounced with silver and gloss black accents.
Power from the 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE engine is maintained with 139PS at 6,400rpm and 172Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
The engine can be managed by a continuously variable transmission with seven virtual speeds as well as steering-mounted paddle-shifters and two driving modes of Eco and Sport.
“These introductions underscore our unwavering commitment to providing a broad spectrum of driving experiences for our esteemed Malaysian customers,” said UMWT president Datuk Ravindran K.

In conjunction with the launch of the two new Corolla variants, the company announced that there will be a Showroom Weekender from Sept 8 to 10 (Sept 23-24 for East Malaysia).
