Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato ready for limited production

Automobili Lamborghini showcased its first super sports car that’s comfortable on both asphalt and dirt. Yes, it’s the new limited-edition Huracan Sterrato (dirt road).

Although pricing has yet to be announced, its production has been earmarked to begin in Feb 2023 with only 1,499 examples to be made

Budding owners will be provided with 350 exterior colours for choice as well as 60 colours for the leather and Alcantara interior options – all through the Lamborghini Ad Personam programme.

Compared with the rear-wheel-driven Huracan Evo, the Sterrato comes with an updated version of the Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics (LDVI) system which now includes Strada (Street) and Sport driving modes as well as Rally for the first time.

The Italian supercar maker has increased the Sterrato’s ground clearance by 44mm compared to the Huracan EVO.

Additionally, the front and rear tracks have been widened by 30mm and 34mm respectively.

To provide more protection for the external panels, it now poses with reinforced sills and a front underbody protection plate.

To allow it to breathe better while being driven on dusty roads, an air intake on the rear hood provides access to clean air for its 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine with an output of 610PS at 8,000rpm and 560Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

The engine is managed by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which comes paired with an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system and a rear mechanical self-locking differential.

Accelerating from 0 to 100kph takes just 3.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 260kph.

Fixtures and fittings include six-piston (front) and four-piston (rear) aluminium fixed monoblock callipers that bite down on 380mm (front) and 356mm (rear) cross-drilled carbon-ceramic discs.

The braking system is partially obscured by the 19-inch wheels wearing custom-engineered 235/40 (front) and 285/40 (rear) Bridgestone Dueler AT002 run-flat tyres which can be driven up to 80km at 80kph with zero pressure.

Inside, the driver’s seat has been mounted in the centre for that pilot-like feeling while Alcantara Verde Sterrato upholstery surrounds its driver.

The Human Machine Interface (HMI) now comes with new graphics and special driving features which include – for the first time, a digital inclinometer incorporated with pitch and roll indicators, a compass, geographic coordinates and a steering-angle indicator.

Among the onboard services, Lamborghini Connect includes integration with Amazon Alexa which allows it to adjust certain functions such as air conditioning and lighting, navigation, phone calls and entertainment with a simple voice command.

The car can also be controlled remotely via the Lamborghini UNICA app with remote speed monitoring and the sending of a destination directly to the navigation system.

The Sterrato also boasts of a connected telemetry system allowing its driver to monitor performance and analyze data via the UNICA app.

Apple Watch users can also synchronize their heart rate information with the onboard telemetry system to measure their driving performance.

The Lamborghini Drive Recorder is also available to record experiences at the wheel – allowing its driver to record the most exciting driving moments.
