BMW dealer partners solar panel provider Vasolar to benefit EV owners in Northern states

In a landmark move in advancing sustainable and responsible mobility, BMW dealer Tian Siang Premium Auto has partnered Vasolar – a leading solar panel technology company in Malaysia.

The collaboration marks a significant step forward for sustainable mobility solutions in the northern
states of Peninsular Malaysia, offering electric vehicle (EV) owners the opportunity for home charging
of their vehicles through solar energy.

“We are thrilled to support Tian Siang Premium Auto, our largest dealer representative in Perak and Penang, in their progressive initiative to drive the adoption of renewable energy solutions amongst their customer base in the region. This unprecedented move is truly in line with our vision and strategy for electrification in Malaysia. Tian Siang Premium Auto, in partnership with Vasolar, is offering a complimentary 4.4kWp rooftop
solar panel worth RM20,000 when purchasing select BMW Electric Vehicle (EV) & PHEV models.

The complimentary offering – installed by Vasolar, comes with a 25-year Performance warranty, 12-
year PV Module warranty, 10-year Inverter warranty, and three-year Workmanship warranty.

As we continue to realise our vision of an electric future, in line with that of BMW Group, this collaboration aims to further reduce dependency on traditional energy grids and pivot to renewable options to significantly lower the carbon footprint of EV drivers in Malaysia,” said Tian Siang Premium Auto managing director Tan Ka Kin.

Vasolar, a subsidiary of Boilermech Holdings Bhd, is an organisation in Malaysia that specialises in the field of solar energy for residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial factories.

“We are excited to collaborate with Tian Siang Premium Auto to present this special offering that will enable BMW EV owners to enjoy cost-free electricity when charging their BMW EVs with solar energy. The partnership between Tian Siang Premium Auto and Vasolar is driven by a shared vision of
combining cutting-edge BMW EV technology with renewable energy solutions for charging.

This collaboration aims to provide total responsible energy solutions for the customer experience to
develop integrated solar charging systems for their electric vehicles from BMW, thereby enabling a more
carbon footprint responsible lifestyle.

BMW Group Malaysia has made over 1,000 charging facilities available in its network and is made up of 400 charging facilities through partnerships with ChargEV and Yinson Greentech.

Also included are JomCharge with its over 100 charging facilities, Gentari and its 150 facilities as well as approximately 160 facilities consisting of Shell Recharge with ParkEasy, ChargeN’Go, ChargeSini, Go To-U and FlexiParking.

Currently, over 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities are also available at most authorised dealerships as well as partner venues across the country with more to come as part of the strategic infrastructure
expansion plan set for the year ahead.
