Kota Baru-based trucking company Mekar Angkut Sdn Bhd has expanded its transport business by taking delivery of 15 TGS prime movers from MAN Truck and Bus Sdn Bhd – all powered by a new Euro V turbodiesel engine.
During a handover ceremony at the German truckmaker’s Shah Alam headquarters, Mekar Angkut executive chairman Che Ibrahim Che Ismail, also popularly known as Pak Nik, was presented with a mock key to the company’s new addition.
The units comprised 10 TGS 4×2 car carrier variants as well as five 6×2 tanker variants that will take on the duties of carrying palm oil.
“We have had good experience with the performance and reliability of MAN Buses in our express bus business, Ekspres Mutiara,” said Pak Nik.
“After personally seeing their current set-up and investment at Shah Alam and receiving the firm commitment from its management, I am convinced and confident that we have made the right choice,” he added.
